Mariana was born in April 2004 in the beautiful city of Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
She is the middle child of 2 sisters and they all practice bodyboarding.

Mariana caught her first wave with a bodyboard at the age of 10 and has never stopped since.
Despite having a huge passion for the sport, she has never stopped focusing on her studies and has always been an Excellence student, finishing the 12th grade with an average of 19.2 points. This year she finished the first year of Biomedical Engineering with an average of 17 points.

In 2018, she won the Regional Bodyboard Circuit of School Sports.

In 2021, in one of the best moments of her short career, she won, at just 17 years old, the national under-18 female title.
He also made history by winning the world's first night-time bodyboarding competition, held at Cabedelo beach in September of the same year.

Also in 2021, in the last championship of the national open circuit (over 18 years old) in extreme conditions at Supertubos, surprising everyone, he reached the final with good scores and achieved an excellent 3rd place with the best wave of the final against older and more experienced athletes.

In 2022, they created regional circuits where Mariana won two of the three events, allowing her to become the first regional champion in the northern under-18 female category.

Also in 2022, she competed for the first time in the bobyboard world championship held in Sintra, finishing in third place, losing only to the world champion and the vice-champion of the Junior world championship.

This year, no longer a junior, she came in third place in one of the stages of the national open circuit, with three more stages that will be hotly contested ahead.
